man killed after leaving restaurant


KUALA LUMPUR: A 51-year-old man was murdered gangland-style in the parking lot of a restaurant near Plaza South City in Seri Kembangan here.The man had left the restaurant after having some drinks and was heading back to his car when he was gunned down by an unidentified assailant at 7pm yesterday, Selangor deputy CID chief Ass.Suspect had been detained.ACP said the victim died instantly after being hit by two bullets – in the right ribs and just below the right ear.“A detective who happened to be having drinks at the same restaurant went out to check upon hearing the shots.“He found the victim lying on the ground in a pool of blood. He also noticed the assailant heading towards a Proton Iswara,” he told reporters at the scene.He said the detective gave chase on foot.The assailant fired two shots at him, which missed.

“The suspect then got into the car and sped off in the direction of a nearby hotel, where he got out and fired another shot at the detective who was pursuing the car on foot because of a traffic snarl in the area.

“This shot also missed the detective. The detective then called for back-up and ordered the suspect to surrender, but was fired at again.

“He then fired a shot at the suspect’s legs,” said ACP Omar. The 51-year-old suspect was then sent to the Serdang Hospital for treatm
