KOTA BARU: Police have confirmed that the death of a 17-year-old girl at a resort on Monday was due to massive bleeding following an abortion.
State deputy police chief SAC II Datuk Amer Hamzah said police ruled out murder after a preliminary investigation.
It was reported earlier that the Form Five student of a religious school had checked into the resort at about 8am and was found dead outside the chalet an hour later.
SAC II Amer clarified that the girl’s 18-year-old boyfriend had gone to the resort to console the girl, who was said to be suffering from depression.
He also said the case had been classified as sudden death.
